Berliner & Company is a full-service accounting firm in Westlake Village, CA, specializing in retail automotive management. Since 1972, we've provided automobile dealers with personalized service, helping them anticipate potential problems, and avoid business management pitfalls while steering them on a steady course to financial stability.
Edward J. Berliner founded the firm in 1972 and has spent the last 46 years providing accounting services to the automotive industry. In total, Berliner & Company principals have over 60+ years of combined experience working with automobile dealers.
We like to see ourselves as the eyes and ears of the owner in addressing reviews of the internal accounting controls to assure that the assets are safeguarded and accounting functions are performed accurately and in a timely manner. We are a nuts-and-bolts organization with a wealth of problem solving experience behind us.

Rudolph van Daalen Wetters (Rudy) – CPA / Partner
Rudy studied and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting at California State University of Northridge in 1976. Rudy has been with the firm since 1985 and has been a principal since 1988. He has over 44 years in public accounting including 35 years servicing automobile dealerships.
Rudy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He provides audit, tax and consulting services. He is also licensed in Nevada and Colorado. His hobbies include collecting and restoring vintage cars.
L. Andrew Slaman (Andy) – CPA / Partner
Andy studied and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting at Ohio University in 1981. Andy joined the firm in 2007 and has been a principal since 2009. He has over 39 years in public accounting including 27 years servicing automobile dealerships. Andy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). He provides audit and tax services, operational reviews, estate planning and Buy/Sell consulting. His hobbies include fishing, hiking and wrestling.
Romeo Sabile (Romie) – EA / Senior Tax Accountant
Romie joined the firm in 2011. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting at California State University of Los Angeles in 1983. He has over 37 years in public accounting including 9 years servicing automobile dealerships. He provides tax preparation and compilation services. His hobbies include music, art and house projects.
Ryan Fujii – CPA / Senior Auditor
Ryan joined the firm in 2018. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from California State University of Los Angeles in 2000. Ryan has over 20 years in public and automobile dealership accounting. He provides audit, review and tax services. His hobbies include watching football.
Kim Slaman - Office Manager
Kim has been with the firm since 2014. Her hobbies include spending time with her 3 children, sports, and home renovations.
